ARTISTS OF ISSAQUAH

The 8th annual Artist of Issaquah show is about to happen on Saturday, April 24th, 2010.  This year we're featuring 22 waterfront artists--painters, sculptors, fabric artists, photographers, and a wood-turner--showing on 8 to 10 different Sausalito houseboats.  This is simply the best and most honest art show in Marin.

Additionally, my studio will be open for a preview on Friday evening April 22nd, from 5-7 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 26th, from 11-5 p.m.   In addition to seeing incredible art, visitors will of course have the opportunity to see the houseboats, including my own studio and gallery at #13 Issaquah Dock.  The purpose of this community event is to encourage people to discover themselves as artists, to provide an attractive venue for artists to show and sell their work, and to create a sense of community around the making of art
.  Since the founding of AOI, several of the resident artists have become "professional" artists.  To get more information, please contact me or checkout the website at http://www.artistsofissaquah.com.

BRIDGEWAY ARTISTS

The 10 artists of the Bridgeway Artists are about to have their first group showing at Sam the Butcher in Ross.  The name of the show is "Finding An Edge."  Please plan on coming to the opening reception on Friday, April 9th, from 6 to 9.

Bridgeway Artists is a group of professional artists from the Bay Area who have created a "salon" based on the European salons of the early 20th century.  We congregate monthly to discuss art and life, show works-in-progress, and revive the art of criticism.  For almost three years, the group has been about stimulating conversation, exchanging ideas, sharing technical "tricks," and supporting each other in pushing our individual artistic efforts as far as possible.  A current project of the group is to produce a portfolio of selected work with the purpose of promoting a series of Bay Area art shows, the theme of which will be "finding an edge."
